In addition, Scupin suggests that women in some tribes have higher social and economic status than men with kinship systems. Matriarchal means that a female is the master of the family or a tribe. On the contrary, Patriarchal means that the male is the master of the family. In this paper, the tribes of Minangkabau and Yanomamo of will be taken to test whether Scupin’s theory is correct.
